After Phase 1, we move into the Resting Period. During this time, the remaining permanent teeth are left to erupt naturally. No orthodontic appliances are usually worn in this stage. This important break allows for the natural growth of permanent teeth and helps reduce the possibility of extractions later on. Regular check-ups are conducted to monitor the progress of teeth eruption.

Phase 2 typically begins when all of your child’s permanent teeth have erupted. The objective of this phase is to ensure each tooth has an exact location in the mouth where it is in harmony with the lips, cheeks, tongue, and other teeth. This is achieved through a carefully calculated use of braces which are typically worn for an average of 24 months. Once this phase is completed, a retainer is used to maintain the new positions of your child’s teeth.
